Annie Lemarié, artist and owner of Main Street Arts LLC, has been a creator of professional decorative finishing work since 1980. Annie studied fine arts at Maryland Institute College of Art and has refined her level of craftsmanship through training with artists and studios throughout the United States.
Main Street Arts LLC specializes in graining, marbling, unique glazed and plaster finishes, and gilding. We has a passion for historical painted finishes, restoration, and conservation.
All projects, whether for a homeowner, builder, government agency or interior design firm, are built around a commitment to creativity, quality and affordability. Some projects include other professional artisans who are selected to bring the best creative or technical qualities to your project. We don't do "stock" finishes...every finish, every color, every pattern, is custom made and designed specifically for you.
Restoration and conservation projects, whether for an individual, antique dealer, federal agency or historic property, are carefully documented, tested and completed in accordance with current conservation practices. We undertake restoration of painted and gilded finishes.
Our work has been featured in a variety of publications including Elle Décor, Washington Home and Garden, Frederick Magazine, Chesapeake Homes and Paint and Wallcovering Contractor (PWC) magazine. We were participating artisans in the 2006 House that Faux Built ( Arlington, Virginia showhouse) and our project is shown in the book of the same name.
Annie is a member of the board of directors for the International Decorative Artisans League (IDAL) and the Society of Gilders. She has been an instructor in graining and marbling with the Decorative Painting Apprenticeship Program and for IDAL, and offers private instruction in her studio. In addtion to decorative and restoration work, Main Street Arts offers graphic design and marketing consultation to small businesses.
